how do i find out what type of memory my computer has?

i want to change/add more memory it seems like a simple procedure but with out removing the board how do i find out what need

Go to "www.crucial.com". Answer a couple easy questions and they'll tell you exactly what you need.

I suggest to download a system checker software like Sisoftware. Install the demo and run the Motherboard Information applet. Scroll down to the System Memory Controller. It should display what you're looking for.

Open the case, take out your memory and read from it.
