At my job I work at my own desk. I brought in pic's of the family and a few memos that say "support our troops" "freedom isn't free" and quotes from the movie office space like " Is this good for the company" now for the past 2months some person(s) have been removing these items from my desk. I am very upset about this. I have gone to the boss twice and they posted a memo to all employees not to touch anything on employees desk. If they have a problem with something to bring it to the bosses attention. Well it hasn't stopped, things are still being taken down from as far as I know only my desk had been tampered with. Can anyone give me ideas on what I should do legally?

If you can hide it, put a little spy cam and see who's doing it.

and generally, if things mean alot to you, its best not to bring those things to work.. :-\

anyways, if you find out who's doing it, write a formal complaint and work your way up through the ranks. mae sure to document all that was taken.

It's stealing. Maybe your bosses are doing it. The memo was just to appease you. some places of employment don't allow personal items of any nature to not offend anyone else. After all unless it's your own office and closed from everyone else your opinion on the war or the company could be offensive to others and businesses try to prevent lawsuits by not allowing personal items

Set up a wireless camera to do surveillance on your desk and make sure that there is something new for someone to bother. When they do, they'll be fired. So far they feel they've gotten away with it and they feel smarter than everyone else. A video of them doing it is easy enough to get. We had a thief at work, not anymore :P

Why are you bringing political stuff to the office anyway? How do you want your fellow employees to support the troops? Does Cher work for your company and you want her to buy more helmets for our soldiers? If you support troops vote for more intelligent leaders.
Maybe it is not a good idea to bring politics to the work place. We already have enough politics in the office.

legally speaking, i would just have a chuckle. people are funny, they take things like little monkeys would.

if you take action remember to ask yourself what your chances are of having a net good effect on everyone's lives.

why not find another job or relocate somewhere?

Or get a hidden camera....
if you find out who did it, then tell your boss about it
or report it to the police or something.
