Would celebrities still give to charities if they had to do it anonymously? Who do you think is most sincere?

Yes I do think some of them would still give anonymously. And some would still give because they get a tax write off. But I think Oprah, Angelina, and Will and Jada Smith would be the most sincere. Oprah seems like she sincerely cares and I don't think she does it for good publicity because no matter what she already has that. I think Angelina truly cares about kids and that's why she donates. I think if she didn't she wouldn't donate a third of her income and I don't think she'd travel the world to do it either when she could just write a big check. As far as Will and Jada they donate to charities all the time and the media rarely talks about their donations, so I think they a truly sincere to.

Yes. People only tend to hear about the "attention whores" who use charities as photo ops to make themselves look good, but they have no idea how much the non-Paris-Hilton-type celebs give to charities.

I work with a lot of celebrities because of my job and have helped set up celeb donations of money and product to numerous charities. I've lost count of the number of surprise hospital visits to children's wards and Make a Wish fullfilments I've helped facilitate for celebrities who have stipulated that there be no press involved at all. For every "attention whore" out there, there's a celebrity who "gets it" and puts their money and time to good use doing what they can to help those less fortunate.

Lets face it if Bob Geldoff hadn't done his thing in the 80's, most of us wouldn't know or care what happened in Africa. We don't really know any of these people so to judge their motives is never going to be fair.

Maybe the best way to look at it is some are doing it for the press, some are doing it because they care, either way people in need are getting brought to the attention of the wider community. Even if it is done by an insincere media whore or a pretty boy trying to keep his name in the magazines to bolster a failing career.

i know most rappers would. they may not look like it in da videos and on tv but most of em care and give back to they hoods. i.e. ice cube (original west coast G!) ice-T, ludacris, and the list goes on. the most sincere? well it's certainly ain't paris hilton lol
