FMLA (family medical leave act *1993) prohibits them from firing you if you have a serious illness. Go to your human resources director, or call them, find out if you qualify for FMLA and if so, get the paperwork and take it to your doctor. Also make copies of all of the information that you have from your MD, my workplace is awful with paperwork and lost my FMLA for my pregnancy, thank god for backup paperwork, Some places can still write you up for absenteeism, but most often a Dr.'s note can stop you from losing your job, and FMLA also protects that, as well as if your workplace drops your benefits if your average hours worked drops below 36 or 33, Fmla will stop you from losing your benefits. As i said just contact your operations manager, or human resources personell at work.

Depends on your sick day policy. How many days
can you be off?
I've gone to work sick before. That, or have them
call me at home.
