Lights get brighter before they go out.
Computer / printer / modem / television / video player / PS2 / light are all plugged in, in that room. Now that I've typed that you, i guess it is quite alot...but i've never had a problem with it before..

There are a few possibilities...

Just from what you have posted... the television in the lounge is on a seperate circuit than the spare room.

You may have a circuit breaker that is overheating, or, a connection of electrical and aluminum wires ( a no-no, because of the heat problems associated with that).

Here are a few questions to help you track it down...
Does the power surge? (Lights get brighter before they go out?)
Is the power outage occuring when a furnace, air conditioner, or other item being used?
How many items, in the one room, are there, using electricity? (You may have too much load)

Some possible remedies, based on what you find....
Add/replace circuit breakers.
Split the circuits supplying power to that area of the home, reducing the work load of the circuit breakers.
Add an Uninterruptible Power Source to your computer (This can be a GREAT help) UPS's come in many sizes...most also offer surge protection.

Ive got a small UPS behind my computer, one that I picked up at WalMart, for about $25. Its saved me numerous times, from losing data, because of a sudden loss of power, hehehe. Im very happy with it.

Good Luck

maximum probably too plenty load is shutting that breaker. In maximum properties an apartments, single poles breaker are in basic terms 15 amps. in the adventure that your television is a huge one and you in addition to would run a transportable electric powered heater and consistent with danger few different small home equipment on the comparable time, there is the priority. you could attempt changing that breaker with a 20 amp single pole yet determine that that heater is in sturdy working order. You in no way stated what style of electric powered heater you working however the finest and friendly warmers you could run on homestead voltage are the small ceramic warmers. sturdy success...!

Electrical items are on different switches and draw different power levels. It could be that a surge went through and only
effected the room where your power was the least. Hope you
have a surge protector for all your appliances.
