I am 36 weeks and 4 days along...My doctor said that my baby has dropped...I thought when the baby drops you stop feeling pressure up by your ribs....Does this mean my baby is long? Or does it mean that she just has not dropped very far into the pelvis??? Tricky question....because....sometimes it feels like she is headbutting my cervix....but I can still feel her kicking the crap out of my rib cage...

when the baby "drops", it means that the head has started to move farther down into the pelvis.....they say that when it drops you should feel a little lighter up top and more able to breath because the diaphram isnt as cramped as before.....however, this also means the baby has a little more room to stretch.....your feeling her little feet getting all the exercise she can in her tight quarters!!!!

i feel the same thing...and it always seems to be on the right side of my rib cage in the fleshiest softest part...it hurts!!!!!

Dropping means that ur baby has moved farther down is almost ready for birth... It feels like sticking a bowling ball between ur legs.. Very difficult to walk...

well, there isn't much space between your navel and your ribs so that would make sense. Her head is lower, her feet are higher and she is kicking you in the ribs.
Congrats and HTH
