Don't seek medical help over the Internet. Go to a doctor. If money is a problem you can always go to a free clinic.

He has an abscess tooth and that is why his face is so swollen. He needs to see a dentist as soon as possible so they can put him on some antibiotics to clear up the infection. He is going to need a root canal to remove the infected nerve. He can always go to the ER and they can give him some pain meds and some antibiotics. No dentist is going to do any work on him with that bad of an infection. The infection will cause him to not get numb so he really needs some kind of antibiotics first. If he does not want to have a root canal done then the only other option would be to have it extracted. Whatever he decides it needs to be quick because it is not good for his body to have an infection like that. Good luck and I hope he feels better soon.

This happened to a friend of mine and he went to the Dr. and found out it was a chronic sinus infection! They gave him antibiotics. Yes, see your Dr. In the meantime, get something for sinus and see if that helps.
