At this age he really doesn't understand the value of money and he definitely won't remember when he's older the type of gifts he received. Try getting him something educational though like Vtech or Leap Frog., but don't go crazy, he wont remember!! I think $20 to $40 is OK. Unless you get something personalized that he can keep forever, that usually cost a little more.

But just remember name brands and expensive gifts at this age don't make sense!! but if you can afford more then give more, but if not don't feel guilty! Its not that important at this age.

At three, I spent 150.00 on the little bugger, and all he wanted to do was crawl through the box. I coulda gone shopping for myself. Which is what I deserved for all the work I was doing raising my kids and doing without because I thought they needed something they never wanted. All they wanted was the box. I wanted the new blouse and shoes. Go figure.

How much can you afford? My kids are 4, 3 and 2yrs and they each get 150$ worth of stuff. Dollar amount doesn't matter, your kid wont care how much it cost. Merry Christmas

Just get him some toys. Ya know, for his age. Easy! Who cares about how much money you waste. Buy something cool for him. It's not like you are buying him a house and a car or something.
