Speaking from personal experience, in 1993 I was escorted from Cebu airport to a travel agent in order to purchase an onward ticket. They wouldn't let me in without one.
You'll have to check visa requirements but I did need one to visit the Philippines.

I have lived in the Philippines now for 4 years. I have to leave once every 12 months to satisfy Philippine Visa requirements. I recently purchased a ticket Philippines to Singapore for less than $50 because I knew I would need it when returning from Thailand to the Philippine. The Philippines require you to have an exit ticket when you enter the country. I forgot and did not bring my exit ticket with me from my home in the Philippines. I had to purchase a ticket before I could board the plane in Thailand for the Philippines. I had to pay $280 via Philippine Airline for a ticket Philippine to Singapore. My advise is to have his ticket before hand because if he waits to get the ticket when boarding the plane in Romania he may be caught as I was without the advantage of being able to buy a Discounted Ticket.

I have lived in the philippines for two years. Here's the l;owdown. On arrival here you will be automatically given a 21 day stay. However, you must(as mentioned above)have an onward ticket somewhere else.It doesn't have to be a return, just a ticket somewhere else.Buy a cheap onward ticket to say..singapore or thailand from the philippines.Once here,if you wish to stay, you can renew your visa before the 21 days are up and be given another 59 days. This process is ongoing, but,as a tourist you need to leave the country every 12 months for 24 hours. Then the whole process starts again.

The answers are correct, it is a requirement that you possess a return ticket, or one to a destination outside of the Philippines. I have been asked to produce same at least once at point of entry.
If your boyfriend marries you, then yes upon presentation to BI and upon payment of a fee, extension will be made for one year. However he will need to be able to prove that he can support himself and you. After a few months he may apply for a temporary permanent visa, and after almost another year a permanent, permanent one. It costs all in around P10,000 with add-ons, and now there is the Alien Card which costs $US50, and registration every year at BI cost P310 in the first sixty days of the year.
Unlike the UK, the Bureau of Immigration here knows exactly who is in the country, and the names of those overstaying their visa. It is very efficient.
If you have been granted permanent residency, then no you would not need an exit ticket.

I have traveled well over 100 international flights (inc. The Phillipines) and I can't recall EVER having to show on onward ticket. However, I know it usually is an entry requirement and it probably is best that you comply with the immigration laws of The Phillipines. I would do as a couple of your previous answers stated, and do what is required by Phillipine immigration law, and it sounds like they knew what they were talking about. If you get caught violating immigration law, you could be deported and denied entry forever.

Hon, if you can go to your parents and ask them in lieu of them giving you a wedding present, or helping to contribute to the wedding funds IF THEY HAVE ALREADY OFFERED TO DO SO, would they consider this, I think it would be fine.....if you have relatives you KNOW plan on gifting you , you may ask them to reconsider and help...but I would not bring up the subject with extended family & friends....you can't assume anyone will gift you so make sure you know for sure that they plan on gifting you first....and approach them the same way you worded this question for us...good luck.
