I love listening to christian music even though I'm not a christian.
I especially like the Choirs that are made up of the full range of voices from Bass, Baritone, Tenor, Contra alto, Alto, Mezzo Soprano and Soprano.
I was surprised to hear about a voice called the Castrato !! The voice of boys who were not allowed to mature into men ! What will the Church think of next ?
Unfortunately easy or light music or Pop is very rarely heard. (Like in the Sister Acts movies)

Growing up in a Pentecostal household my mon n dad didnt ban Rock or anything else i listened to but they taught me well & i made up MY OWN MIND what was right/wrong for me to listen to. Some years later when i stopped my sins & decided to serve GOD i was at a loss of the music i listened to & at that point i didnt know there was music other than the southern gospel kind that was music I DIDNT LIKE so another long haired christian brother thurned me on to christian rock-metal-blues-jazz EVERYTHING THAT I LOVED WAS IN CHRISTIAN MUSIC AS WELL but i also listen to secular cant live with out LED ZEPPELIN YOU KNOW

Nope. I think that most of it is crappy musically and lyrically. If it weren't a sacred subject matter, most of the songs would be laughed at. Those who can actually compose good music and write good tunes are few and far between. It has nothing to do with success (U2, Evanescense, Jars of Clay, Creed, etc), it just has to do with basic talent. Not even all contemporary music is good. Linkin Park? lol. But hey, who am I to judge, if it sells, that's all that matters.

i do not see why no longer. i like some Christian music... would not propose I even must have self belief it. this is only fantastic, inspiring even. i can relate it to my God & Goddess now and again. Or now and again this is only fantastic music, like impressive Grace is a acceptable music even even with the truth that i don't have self belief there is a few thing to be kept from. Wicca isn't a faith that thinks this is undesirable or risky or threatening to be uncovered to the concepts & ideals and practices of alternative religions.

I've never really heard any of it. I just hear a song and know right away if I like it or not . I like all different genres(but my favorite is classic rock)so if it sounds good I'd listen but if it was all preachy then forget it. Half the time you can't make out what the singer is saying anyway. Look at Nirvanas "smells like teen spirit". I still don't know half of what hes saying.

If I have absolutely no choice, I listen--not my choice, don't really care for most of it--but this is America and by golly you can listen to whatever you want to!!! Just don't try to make me listen to it--anymore than I'll make you listen to 70's rock.
