Dear god...okay. The best one is Massachusetts, where I live. The capital is Boston. Then you have Rhode Island, capital Providence, Maine, capital Augusta, New Hampshire, capital Concord (pronounced like conquered, not Concorde), Connecticut, capital Hartford, and Vermont, capital Montpelier. The Green Mountains run through Vermont and the Whites through New Hampshire. Maine has the only national park north of Virginia. Massachusetts was settled in 1620 by the Puritans (Pilgrims). Rhode Island is actually not an island, though it has many. Nothing interesting happens in Connecticut, except that there has been road work on the same stretch of highway for the better part of 25 years.

Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine (which was actually part of Mass. until 1820), New Hampshire, and Vermont (which used to be part of New York). If you look at the northeast corner of a map of the U.S., you'll see all 6 are grouped together geographically. You can basically think of them as all the states east of New York.

You don't need to apologize, it was an honest and good question. I'm out in California, and without looking at a map, I would've totally forgotten about Massachusetts.
