Race = All men are created equal.
Religion = Judge not lest ye be judged
sexuality = to have and to hold
If God is against gays then why did he allow them to be. I believe in God but I don't "agree" with the bible. When did marriage become an act of legality instead of an act of matrimony, and why is it so damn hard to accept scientific proof that people are born gay rather than it being a personal choice. We trust science for DNA testing, for lie detector tests. When do we start believing what is proof instead of what we want to believe. I'm not gay. I'm a woman living with a man who is the father of my children. I want to know why people are so judgemental and how they became that way.

I think everybody has the right to love who they love and they wouldn't love that person if God felt it wasn't right.

I'm not asking what your status is. I'm trying to understand why people believe what they do.

You are the prime example of how all religious people should be. Thankyou for your understanding, your tolerance, and your common sense. The Yahoo community owes you a big thankyou.

First of all, God isn't against Gays, the ancient people (who thought the world was flat) were against gays (and just about everything else, except when they were behind closed doors, and then they did all the things they told everyone else not to). I agree that all Humans are the same, and that we all came from Africa. And I agree that gays are born gay, as I know and have known hundreds of gay men and women, and not one of them says that they woke up one day and said they "decided" to be gay. My problem with the Religions of the Occident (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), is that their teachings tell you not to judge, but these folks are the first ones to cast you into hellfire and damnation, when according to their teachings, only God can do that. Also, more wars and suffering has been perpetrated by or about these Religions, than all other wars put together on this planet, so I would say their is something seriously wrong with those forms of "Faith Based" concepts.

Several recent studies, including pioneering work by neuro-scientist Simon LeVay, demonstrate that there are notable differences between the physiology of a heterosexual male and a homosexual male. These differences are primarily noted in the brain, inner ear and olfactory sense. LeVay discovered in his double-blind experiment that approximately 10% of homosexual male brains were physiologically different from their heterosexual counterparts, [5] some people take this as showing that people are born as homosexuals, however in LeVay's own words:
"It's important to stress what I didn't find. I did not prove that homosexuality was genetic, or find a genetic cause for being gay. I didn't show that gay men are born that way, the most common mistake people make in interpreting my work. Nor did I locate a gay center in the brain. INAH-3 is less likely to be the sole gay nucleus of the brain than a part of a chain of nuclei engaged in men and women's sexual behavior...Since I looked at adult brains we don't know if the differences I found were there at birth, or if they appeared later"
Matrimony has become a matter of legality because of wickedness. Men and women were designed to love god and teach their children to do so and love each other.
"Judge not lest ye be judged" means that we all are sinners. To point the finger and not point the finger at yourself is a sin.
Pointing out to a brother or sister that they need to turn to God, turn from their wicked life and love each other is not judging. It is helping a fellow believer to not be deceived.
These people calling certain sinners horrible names, ARE judging and are sinning themselves. They should be loving.
"Love your neighbor as yourself."
As wickedness increases, and more and more people turn from God, what is right will seem wrong and what is wrong will be held up as right.
Also, in the Bible, King David and his friend Johnathan loved each other. They wept over each other and kissed.
They were not "GAY."

Race= a label place on men and women that has created a mass amount of division and conflict.
Religion= more division created to have control and power over what a mass amount of people believe about God. Domination.
Sexuality= God equals love and love equals freedom of choice. Freedom to be who you are natually born as or freedom to change if you do not like yourself. I'm only a mere human and have no idea what God thinks about it and he's the one that ultimately matters. One of God's first commadments is to love your neighbor. He didn't say love your neighbor only if he's how you think he should be.
If you want to know why people became judgemental, you should read a book called The Last Hours Of Ancient Sunlight by Thom Hartman. He really puts domination into perspective I think.

im with you. Everyone should be equal, race, religion and sexualtiy. there has always been a conflict between religion and science. Christians, not all, but some of your gay bashing christians, are going to do all they can to disprove the science that backs that homosexuality is from birth, just as they argue the science that states that evolution did happen.(at least in later stage, i dont know about the big bang, but there is proof of later evolution) i also believe in God, but i am with you that the bible is not the best depiction of everything. i personally believe it is a man made story to beat people into submission. Some people feel that God himself made things this way. i dont remember reading or hearing anywhere that Jesus was going around holding a collection plate while performing miracles, People themselves have begun to make up their own rules when it comes to what is acceptable in religion and society....i guess it is just unfortunate human nature. I wish there were a more accurate answer, but sadly, the only thing that makes a person judgemental, is their environment. (sorry i kind of jumped all over with that, but hopefully my main point comes across)

Love has no bounderies race age disabiity or gender
race - to me is where people get there culture from and cultures should never be forgoten yet the future can be changed
religion -*god well i do not believe in god yet i respect those that do
*the bilbe is a made up story writen be man not god and
has not one real fact in it
*and th bible was only writen to brain wash society
in to being lawful many years ago it is out dated
sexuality - what one really is deep with in them selfs when one is really true to them selves and know what passion is and knows where to find it
i think we are all born bisexual we are all built for it
and i think it is a choice to be straight and many only are as it is againts they religon if they are not
other feel it is the way to be
same as being gay or bisexual we choose our lives and we should all respect those that are true about it
we are all born to love yet we are torght to hate (religion though my eyes) is the reason we have wars whether in society or with guns accross nations
piece is understanding and respect where and when did that go!
read the bible you may find your answer

ive yet to see scientific evidence that people are infact born gay...im not against gays...im just saying i havent seen scientific proof....but anyway....i think people have every right to love whom every they wish to love...its non of my business. i think the christians are just trying to "uphold" the bibles text since the bible does very much not like the idea of a man laying with another man. and most christians dont believe people are "born gay"...they believe they are being tempted by sin or being puppeted by the devil to be or act gay....which is kinda stupid since theres NO EVIDENCE that there is a demon tempting them...or that there is even a being such as the devil. [bible not valid evidence...every other religious book claims to be the truth so it is void]. also some christians dont have a problem with gays...heck...some gays are very devoted christians. personally i think people pick and choose what THEY THINK is "moral" and use "in the name of god" to back up theyre statement. some chrisitians think god is a strict being who should be feared and worshipped. some christians think he is a loving god and accepts everyone no matter what or who they are. people just pick and choose according to what they want to believe.
race: asain.
religion: im athiest...but i once was a fundie christian.
sexuality: straight.

Fear of the unknown. Also, people can be incredibly stupid and slow to learn. They're also prideful and smug, and don't want to let go of their beliefs because they fear change? I don't know.
Why just think, it wasn't too long ago before the races were separated.
Humanity is obviously still at its 'baby stages.' But I'm really glad that you're one of the ones that are 'up there' and figured out that homophobia is simply ridiculous.

Right on! An enormous amount of wasted motion could be saved if people would learn how to do science, and then do so. But people are guided by emotions, which from an evolutionary point of view came before logic, and some people simply have never outgrown their original genetic heritage.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. But hatred runs deep among people. There are people who hate people who aren't like them, and always will. This only breeds more hate, from the children they bring into the world, and those they discriminate against.
I don't know why people still refuse to accept things like that when the proof is laid out right in front of them. Ignorance blinds them to facts, they stubbornly hate based on what they were taught.
