This is me being very honest: My first job was a small business job & I overlooked one important factor: the owner of the small business was a bully (and I was given very strong hints about this in the interview). After 8 mths and a lot of tears I left that job. Don't mak the same mistake I did.

As far as what you say in the interview just stress you are very determined and will do whatever it takes to get the job done (since you can't point to any job experience)

/Merry Xmas

Well, it is a pretty good idea to bring a copy of your resume. If you've never had a job or volunteer position, there are other items to place on your resume, like: school activities, even some of your classes. Perhaps even include a statement of your future career aspiration and how this job would help you prepare for that. Also, make a list of character references. Not parents, but teachers or other adults who know you and can attest your good character and honor. These references should be listed with a phone number, in case the employer feels the need to call and ask about you.
Expect questions that will tell them about your character. For many employers, the most important aspect of a new employee is hiring someone with integrity. They will want to know how you will act in a situation where you may have to take a stand, or a time when you will have to be truthful and bring an issue out into the open. It may just be something less dramatic, like are you an honest person?... are you a prompt and punctual person? ...do you treat others with respect?..and so on.

well, I hope all of my rambling will be of some help to you.

good luck with the interview and have a Merry Christmas

Firstly, on your Resume make sure you place any information about clubs or groups you were involved in at school. For example, debating club or choir, played a musical instrument, etc. You can try and volunteer to gain some experience.

You need to have a professional looking Resume. Did you cover this in High School? If not you can search the Web for the perfect Resume.

What you include on your Resume depends on the type of job you are going for. Customer service is a must. You say you haven't had a job before, have done any babysitting, gardening, helping someone else do something that they can no longer do alone. Wash someones windows. Include any hobbies you may have.

At the interview it is essential that you look the part, dress appropriately for the position. Never go dressed in torn or dirty clothing.

Questions you may be asked. What can you offer us? Why should we consider you?

Above all at the interview be yourself. Have a friend or group of friends ask you questions you think you might be asked. This can help with the nerves. If you can't get anyone to help, practice in the mirror.

You can do it. Trust in yourself.

First SPELL Resume' right! Spelling is very important when you hand someone your resume. Since you are new, just put your education and what experience you've had so far in school that might help you in the job. (computer class, wood shop, home ec, whatever) Look for resume's on line.. they give you a good idea.

Second, bring your belief in yourself as an asset to the company and educate yourself on the place some, so you can tell them why you'd be so good there.

Third, bring your references which you can list on your resume. The people that they can call to verify the contents on your resume, like your school counselor and an older family friend.

Fourth, a smile... always smile and make eye contact. Never use "Like" It Like, won't like, get you, the like, job.

Fifth, prepare to answer really silly questions like "Where do you see yourself in five years, or ten years? They really do ask you that.

Lastly. Be yourself, don't be too nervous about it at all. You are perfectly capable of doing a job, mistakes will happen, but that is how you learn. Don't be too discouraged if you have to go to a few interviews. In every case possible, be honest about everything because if you misrepresent yourself in any way, they can fire you later for it. Honesty is easiest because you never have to back track and remember what story you told whom. Just remember they are going to ask you a lot of questions. Educate yourself on what questions are illegal for them to ask you, there are some. Good LUCK

Since this is your first job, I don't think it is necessary to try to compile a resume. You have stated you wouldn't have anything to put on it. As far as how to act, I suggest just be a good listener. The person interviewing you will probably ask you 5-10 questions about your previous experiences with fast paced enviornments, working with others, multi-tasking, etc. After they ask a question do not answer right away, take a few moments to think about what they are asking and put your thoughts together. Most importantly.... RELAX!! There is no reason to be nervous ( you will be , I know) but, try to relax and be natural. Treat the situation like you are having a conversation with a friend, be at ease. If you don't get a job after your first interview don't worry, keep applying places and you will get a job :) Good Luck :)

If this is your first job that you tried to get the best thing to do is know what the business does and dress according to that type of work. Do not go looking like the job interview is a waste of your time, because with that attitude it will be. Be pleasant and ask questions about the job, but do not be an air-head about it. do not waste the employer time by not being ther at the appointed time and be curtious at all times. If you find out that the job is not what you hoped for be honest and up front to the prospective employer. Good Luck on your new job!

My best advise to you as this is your first job is be honest about who you are, as in be yourself. Act as proffessional as you know how an realize that your piotential boss knows that this is probably your first interview and will allow for that. In fact how you present yourself, your attitude, appearance, and how you express yourself will probably mean more than anything you say. However, be sure to speek up and speek clearly. Make good eye contact, don't fidget, and when you first meet be sure to shake hands offer your hand first if you get the chance, and make it firm not wimpy, smile and present yourself by stating your name, and remember to listen. Sometimes when we get nervous we forget to listen. People like to know that they are heard, expecially the boss. Don't be afraid to ask questions or make polite statements or comments, this shows that you have confidence and are not afraid to learn. Remember there are no stupid questions only stupid mistakes. It is through this type of interaction that your interviewer will see that you have the ability to communicate, and in today's world it is about one of the most important skills one could have. Less important is the resume, don't dwell on it and you can list your hobbies instead of clubs, skills instead of volunteer work. Get a good nights sleep before the interview and give yourself plenty of time to get ready, Be on time, a few minutes early even to catch your breath. Preparing yourself mentally being yourself and presenting confidence should get you through any questions that may come your way. All you have to do is sell yourself, so believe in you and go fo it.

You say you are 13, soon 14. And all you can focus on is getting a job. This is not good. You want to get out of your home is the feeling I get and that is not an option, nor should it be. You can waltz out and make a big mistake at 18 but not before. So, get back to school and study.

it depends on where u plan on working. if u don't have any experience u should put your name address, phone number, email, education and any volunteer information if u have done so in the past. u should also type a list of at least three personal references with their names phone numbers and occupations (they can't be relatives so use friends and teachers in your case). u should try to relax and be prepared to answer lots of questions. they usually ask questions about your personality and how u handle yourself in certain situations. us hould search the net to find examples of some resumes
