Christmas Eve is a huge meal at my Sister's house and my 41st viewing of "Miracle on 34th Street!" Christmas Day is my day of complete rest - I'll do nothing all day except Yahoo you! Then early Tuesday morning I'll be flying to Brisbane, Australia - a long flight with a fuel stop in Hilo, Hawaii!

I find it interesting that some people still believe that Christ was born on December 25th. That was a day chosen by the Roman Catholic church. The Bible does not provide an exact date for Jesus birth. Many scholars believe, based on certain events in the Bible, that Jesus was probably born in the spring (April or May) The Bible gives two accounts of the birth of Jesus. They are found in Matthew 1 and 2 and Luke 2. No mention is made of the date. No command is given for our Lord's birthday to be observed in any way. No example is found in the New Testament of any celebration of Christ's birth. Rather, the New Testament emphasis is on the death and resurrection of Christ. His death made possible the forgiveness of our sins. His resurrection makes possible our victory over death. The Lord's supper is to "show the Lord's death till he come"(I Corinthians 11:26). The only day in any way set aside for special religious observance in the New Testament is the Lord's day, Sunday, the first day of the week (Acts 20:7;1 Corinthians 16:2; Revelation 1:10).

The same way as any place else. If your a Christian you believe the first Christmas was in the desert!

We live in AZ, we decorate with lights. And the same holiday decorations as everyone else. I have a friend that changes the lights in her pool to green and red! Another friend who has grass in the front yard and planted winter grass painted it white!

You don't need snow to celebrate Christmas. Real trees are brought in for those that prefer them, they need more water, but other than that no difference.

Without water, I'm guessing.

Paint a fake mirage of a stream for your loved ones in the sand, and giggle when they try to jump in or drink from it.

First off, decorate the cactus very carefully. Very carefully. The rest just falls into place!
