I am 18 weeks prego and have seen a doctor multiple times for this so please give answers besides go see a doctor if possible. I have been bleeding and cramping now for over a month as if i was miscarring, the doctors tell me its a threatened miscarriage. The baby is still fine. but the bleeding and cramping can be terrible to the point of gushing like a faucet, the only other info i got from the doctors i have seen is that i had a small tear in between the placenta and the uterin wall. it has hindered my ability to work and have the energy to play with my other children. Some days i cant move the cramping is so bad. has anyone had these symptoms what is it caused by and when will it stop. i have not passed tissue like a normal miscarrige just alot of bugary like substances. I am worried as it seems to be getting worse and not better does any one have any info for me that will help.

The abrupto placenta sounds like the best 'online' diagnosis. Are you seeing your regular Ob/Gyn or a "HIGH RISK PREGNANCY" Specialist? If you are not seeing MD/DO that SPECIALIZES in high risk pregnancies then you may be in trouble. Google the HRPS in your area and see what you come up with.
You can also go to the hospital and tell them you want another opinion. That is your right.
Best of luck to you and your baby

If you feel that unconfortable with what the dr is telling you get another opinion. But if the heartbeat is strong and the baby is growing properly you may do best by taking it easy and trying not to overworry. My sister-in-law was in the hospital 1 day before her wedding and they thought she was going to miscarry she was at that time only 9wks. It turned out she had a tear in her placenta which is what it sounds like you may have. She was told to stay off of her feet as much as possible and to relax. She was also seeing the dr every other week. Eventually the bleeding did stop and she should have her baby in the next week. Unfortunately since the majority of us here on yahoo answers are not dr's or medical professionals we can just share our experiences and tell you the dr know's more than we do. Good luck i hope your chicky stays sticky.
Ps. If you can relax it will also help keep your blood pressure down which is good for you and baby.

A 'threatened miscarriage' is basically your body wanting to miscarry, but not having the guts to yet. You said you passed a mucus-like substance; it sounds like you might have passed your mucus plug, which means that yes, you are, more than likely, miscarrying.
I have gone through this and I know it's no picnic (understatement). The only thing you can do is wait. If your pregnancy is viable, you'll be at a high risk because of your other condition (I think that's called placenta previa, someone correct me if I'm wrong). However, I have to tell you that for the most part a threatened miscarriage is usually a waiting game. When I had mine, my doctor told me it could be 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months... but eventually I would miscarry, because my body simply didn't want to be pregnant. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

The Dr is going to be the best judge and I did not have any of the symptoms that you are feeling. I know that you should always look out for a fever, vomiting, flu like symptoms and all the things that you know aren't normal. I have heard of something called Listeria which is when your uterus has an infection and in most cases causes you to have a miscarriage. I don't want you to worry but I would ask your Dr about anything else you can do for the cramping other than Tylenol. Good luck and I hope things work out for you.

I was having the same symptoms, but I had placenta previa. I had to stay in bed for 3 months, but I had a healthy baby. I would check to see if it is placenta previa, and stay off your feet. A Home Health Care nurse came in to help me during the day. Praying for you!

Get ahold of a product called T-miss by dial herbs. It saved my baby and stopped the bleeding give it a try. Also red wine will help. Go to bed! Take it easy lie on your back with your legs up on a pillow. I hope this helps, and good luck!

Have you seen the dr since you've started the heavy bleeding and cramping? Have you had an ultrasound to check to see if the baby is ok? The reason I ask if because I lost a baby at 20 weeks and pretty much had the same things you are describing... please, please go get checked, and if you have, don't do anything stressful, just take it easy.

your uterus may be separating from your uterus. This is called abruptio placenta. This could be life threatening. You need a second opinion immediatly. The doctor may have thought that you are going to have a miscarriage on your own, but it isn't happening. Call in for an appointment.

i am not trying to scare you but it has happened to me. my doctor (a very good doctor) told me that if something like that happens before you are 4 months along, it will most likely result in miscarrage. almost all the time they say it is a threatened miscarrage, it usually is one. some people spot all through their pregnancy, but there should never be gushes or blood clots.
