My friend just told me this weekend that she is pregnant. I have never wanted a child before(was very much against it actually), and I do not intend to have a child unless I'm married and stable, but still, suddenly I find myself wanting to do it eventually. Is it just because someone I know is pregnant, and does that happen to alot of people?

I remember when I first got married I didn't wish to have a child. Then all of a sudden I guess cause I was getting older it hit me one day. Most of my friends and family all had kids so I guess I was affected by this.
Its not bad that you want a child some day I think its only normal. Most woman have the ''nurturing'' quality in them.
Of course, now that I look back, once I really did have my baby and she would scream all day long and not give me a moments peace- I do remember thinking ( without meaning I didnt adore her) '' I must have been crazy to actually want this to happen!''

Im 22 years old and ever since i was a young girl, i knew i wanted to have kids. Im currently 6 months pregnant (unplanned) i always pictured myself having my first baby at say 26-27... not 22! but once i found out there was no way i was going to get rid of it.

I cant imagine anything greater than having your own little you to love and nurture!

wanting a baby is completely normal. im 24 and i still don't want kids yet. i, too, want to be financially stable and married before i think of it.... but ever so often, it really does cross my mind that "ohh i really want a baby soon" and i do think it's because you get that happy vibe from your pregnant friends. it's all for the good though.

Yeah It seems normal. I really never wanted a baby until my friend found out she was pregnant. Well I wanted one just not for a while.
But when she talked about it I found myself jealous...I ended up waiting a year anyway for a few job related reasons...but somehow I felt totally different about it. It even effected my husband?!
Good Luck!

Procreation is a normal instinct, if not there would be no us. Suddenly wanting to be pregnant because your friend is, well that's not a good enough reason for wanting to have a baby. Wait until you feel it for yourself.

Desiring young is actually a subconciously ingrained "need"

Animals do it.
Humans are Mammals.
Mammals are animals, therefore we have that need as well.

It's a natural WANT to reproduce, however, there might be a tad bit of unforseen jealousy? Your friend is getting a lot of googling and attention because she's expecting, perhaps that could be fueling your subliminal need. It happened to a friend of mine. When she actually got pregnant, she freaked and ended up giving up the baby.

yes that happens to every women. at least every one that i have met. it is your motherlly instinct pushing out. when you find out that a friend is pregnant it is really hard not to think about having one yourself, I do it still and i already have 3 kids. but everytime i see a friend that is pregnant or one that has a newborn i want to do it again. that is just part of being a women.

yes, normal reaction to people you know having babies. natural response, as nature intended. its safer to have babies all at the same time, rather than at different times, if you look at the animal instinct, with safety in mind. we may be advanced, but the instincts are still a part of us.
