I'm not the oldest child, but I'm the oldest daughter. Here's what it means... It means that when your younger siblings turn 40, you can slam them about their age ALL YOU WANT... but come your birthday, LOOK OUT!!

I'm 45. My little sis recently turned 40. It was fun doing the "Over the Hill" stuff with her... but now she reminds me that I round up to 50!

Oh well, when we were children, siblings were a pain. But when we grew up, we became close friends. Despite birth order and age differences...

It often means they grow up faster because parents drop attention and care for them to handle the new babies.
In reality, few modern adults have adequate time for more than 1 child. The oldest are often forced to fend for themselves emotionally way to early . The oldest do not get equal attention nor care.

frankly speaking I am the younger one but my sis (older) seems younger than me which is weird and its all because she isn't responsible as I am which really sucks for me. I love my sis and mom but what I think is that when you are the older kid you are "meant" to be responsible, no matter what your age is because you are always more experienced than your younger sibling. I think that's kind of unfair but hey you get to be more mature and decide on things.
