Patriotism has nothing to do with ones religious faith. All Americans should love their country and be willing to stand up for it. Often Christians (of which I am one) are very patriotic, but they certainly aren't necessarily better (or worse) than any other who loves America.

I have to say that what does it really matter? I don't think that it is non patriotic I think that a non christian in the united states might have to deal with a lot more **** than the rest but who really cares. But to be asking this question you must not believe in the law that separates church and state. If you didn't already know there was law made in the beginning of "the united states" that stated that there should always be a separation between the church and the state and somehow our lawmakers that WE elected forgot about that. Not to be condisending but that is the way we founded our country so isn't that the way it should stay?

I don't think so. America is called the "melting pot", which means that America is made up of all sorts of people who hold all types of beliefs. Yeah, you'll get people who will make a big deal of it, but that's their own personal issue. Patriotism has nothing to do with religion. You can love your country, but want nothing to do with religion. I am religious, but I am not patriotic. It's kinda like appreciating your state football team. People make it seem like you have to just because that's the state that you are from. I'm from Indiana, I could give a care less about the Colts, but that doesn't mean that I hate Indiana.

I am an American Soldier, and after having served 20 years in the US military, I will say that I have "done my time" in order to allow a question such as this to be asked.
My religious preference and my views on the country and the world were not a question that was ever asked of me. Except for one thing that is....... it is on my dog tags (ID tags), in case I don't make it back home they will use that to determine what symbol to put on my headstone marker.

No. I am a Christian, but my beliefs have nothing to do with my patriotism. In fact, the fact that we have so many beliefs is a testament to the spirit of true patriotism.

Well... our founding fathers were not all angels... as a matter of fact allot of them were pagans... ergo the free masons. I'll tell you two examples: Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson.
Ben is one of the founders of the Hellfire club.

If you don't believe in Christ you have more to worry about than being patriotic.

in a way, some people would beg to differ, but America was founded a Christian country, even though it allows for religious freedom. its a culture thing if you think about it.
