He is your friend and they are your friends. Someone is lying to you but you have no way of knowing the truth. I'm afraid you have to give everyone the benefit of the doubt: innocent until proven guilty and all that. Tempting as it is to assign blame, it will go badly for you if you blame the wrong person, or worse still accuse a trusted friend of lying to you. Be patient; the truth will out.

Do some investigation, Because your parents and friend are only two sources, you need at least 3 for a tie breaker. Ask his friends(single them out for the truth), They may Know More about what happened than even your Parents. If he is Innocent in their eyes, ask if they Know the true culprit. Then take that person down. Or the reverse if he is not....

Depends on the severity of the prank. If it was something small or childish Id say put some faith in him. He wouldn't lie about something small.
If this is more of a serious hurtful prank then Id play the feelings card.
Make sure he knows you are hurt. If hes worth his mettle he will come forward and apologize if he did it.

Wow. I do believe that you are in a bad place with this situation. I would suggest that you confront your friends and him at the same time; if it is SO IMPORTANT that you have to get to the bottom of this. Someone knows the truth and if you need to know the answer and are willing to accept what that answer is, you should pursue a group solution.

Never trust anyone except your mum or your kids, its a part of life that people will never live up to expectation, a friend will tell something to you in confidence,"dont tell anyone else" then tell everyone they meet.

you can't trust nither your friend's nore the bloke. both parties could be in on it. true friend's would never do a prank on a friend. so i think he did it. probably just to show you he likes you. men are pathetic, when it comes to women

That's a hard one, you really have to follow your gut on this one. If no harm was done, no injuries, just let it go,so they got one over on you. Maybe they didn't mean for it to effect you in this manor

Trust him. Until you find out he's lying. If he lied to you, be done with that friendship. You'll find out one way or another eventually.
