i'm japanese, and it's very common for japanese women to shave or wax their arms. unlike white people especially who have blonde arm hair, we get dark arm hair which is very noticeble and unattractive. so we shave or wax the hair to have attractive arms.
and do i like shaving or waxing hair? ya, i do. when my husband and friends touch my arms, they say my arms are so soft and smooth. And my husband actually likes me not having arm hair. so i always shave my arms. doing that actually makes me feel good about myself and feel like i'm an attractive woman.

Shave UNDER arms, don't shave arms. If you just really feel compelled to remove the hair on your arms, try something like Nair or waxing. Don't shave them. Stubble will look a lot more weird than hairy arms.

I do. I used to be a swimmer, but I'm fairly sure it didn't help my time at all. It might have been more of a psychological thing rather than anything else.
I've been told I'm not hairy, but I really like the feeling of smooth skin. I also don't really like hair. I do it about once a week, and no, my hair doesn't grow back thicker. If anything I think it helps exfoliate my skin.

Girls do it to be smooth.. it isn't necessary. just some do it for looks. One day it could get the arms rough like a mans beard, not everyone but some. I did it once and I didn't like it, but I know some girls dont like the arms with hair.. It is really just personal preference.

If a girl's arms are very hairy or if she has very dark hair, then it is acutally embarrassing to some. I have dark arm hair (my natural hair color is nearly black), so I do shave it sometimes. I feel a lot more confident when I do.

OMG...I would never do that. I have a cousin who did that, and let me tell you, her hairs on her arms grew back, but the hairs seemed like they were more! I don't know, but, like shaving your legs, once you start shaving them, you have to keep up the maintenance, after that! There's no stopping!
I wouldn't go so far as to shave the arms. That's getting a bit too weird...

If one has jeavy growth of hair on her arms, she might think of removing it, and this is more for cosmetic reason than anything else! Unfortunately in today's society, for a girl to have hairy arms, or hair on her upper lips/face that is prominent, is considered to be unwanted. Every girl has hair growing on her arms, and it depends on an individual to see whether it interferes with her self-esteem to retain it or resort to methods of their removal. Hair on the face and upper lip, if excessive, may denote a hormonal imbalance.

Hi there...
Well, I had a roommate that shaved her arms... she let it grow back and she said that it itched really bad and the hair came back black. It is kinda like shaving your legs.. for girls anyway... when you start you can't stop. But anywho.. my roommate really liked doing it... she said that it made her feel better about herself!

I have been self-conscious of my arm hair most of my life. I did try shaving them, it felt nice right after and I had more confidence, no one noticed though, not even my husband.
It is not that common, just a matter of preference.
