This can be a frightening scene, especially with the recent case of the 14 yo body slamming a 6 yo - which killed her.

What you presented is very one sided. Was this playful wrestling that siblings sometimes do or was this a scene of tension and anger?

If it's tension and anger, you definitely need to solve the problem and protect your 2 yo. Under no circumstances would I leave them alone. Family counseling is a must. If you cannot afford a private counselor, set something up with a church. Even city / county / state services would help economically.

A 14YO is old enough to control his anger. Sometimes, any age needs lessons in how to do that.

Unless the 2-year-old was screaming and crying, I'd just smile and go on about my business. If the 2-year-old IS screaming and crying, I'd tell the older child to let up.

He should be punished. Ground him or spank him.

He shouldnt be doing that to a 2 year old. The baby could get hurt. Make sure he doesnt do it again.Unless he was just playing with the baby which i dont think that was but still.

This is far from normal! Get help now and make sure you tell yr step son that you are onto him. Give him a very firm warning and ask him to give you a reason for doing this, and what he was trying to achieve. keeping in mind that he also is a child, with obvious behavioural/psychological issues

hey it could just be play fighting, you never know my 13 yearold does that to his 5 year old brothers, its just a bit of fun and they laugh.

i doubt it was serious, but if it was a serious threat, discipline him how you see fit, if it was my kid - i would ground him and promise a spanking if it happened again, but thats me - you do what you feel is best. and get his real parent (i guess your new husband) to punish him, it would be approprate.

Sounds like your son has some major problems. He's probably jealous that your two year old gets more attention. I'd recommend punishing him.

What is the question? Did you finish the question? If he was acting malicious, then you need to watch the stepson. He is jealous and may hurt your baby. This display by him is not normal.
