how can i type four to the power of two. i want the number 2 to be small and place on top because it represent the square
how can i type H2O. this time i want the 2 to be small and place below.

If you are using Microsoft Word, you will need to highlight the number and go to Format --> Font. If you want the number to be small and raised, select "superscript" and if you want the number to be lowered, select "subscript".
