All things in this life ebb and flow like the tides of the great oceans. Its only the sad and lonely times that give the times when you are surrounded by those you love such meaning. If you like being quiet and shy, then continue to do so, regardless if no one includes you in anything. If they are your true friends they will understand this side of you and will allow you to be yourself. If you want to be more outgoing, its going to take some practice. You have probably been shy for the bulk of your life so its your automatic mode. To break out of this, set a goal everyday, such as saying hi to a complete stranger, or striking up a conversation with someone new in line no matter how awkward it feels at first. Give yourself time and dont criticize or punish yourself. It will become natural to you and will be second nature. Don't expect to be constantly happy because no one is. Just set your mind to be at peace no matter what is going on around you. That is the key to real joy.

I am just on the opposite to you.Having known much, I am more likely to be silent. Sometimes I can't help being sad, but actually I feel good about myself. I know everything now, good or bad, is going to change, toward what you are pursuing.
Happiness is a state of mind. Just let everything go.
Wish you feel free and happy!

Change the way you think. Because you usually attract what your thinking. If your thinking negativity, they you will attract negativity. Try thinking more positively and happiness will be right behind. Try waking up in the morning and think and say a positive affirmation for the day. After about 7 days you will notice a difference in what your doing, how your feeling and what your thinking. Good Luck.

Buddy, you are asking for the impossible! It is impossible to be happy all the time, not even with anti-deppressants! Life is a roller coaster, just go for the ride and take the good with the bad!

Vincent, become your own best friend. You can't control others, you can't control what happens to you in life. You can control, and only control how you react. You can control your own emotions. So you have it in your power to be happy or sad. Your choice. Remember, you are great and wonderful, the best person you know. Accept yourself as you are. You are unique in the universe and deserving of love and respect. Give it to yourself. As for others, it's their problem if they don't recognize how great you are. If you honor yourself you will find others will also honor you. Mostly they don't know how to honor themselves. You do...so do it. Be great. Have a nice life.

The answer to this lies within you. I suggest meditation or something similar. No external factor will reliably make you happy.
