Good software skills... analytical ability..... attitude... communication skill...... and ofcourse your academic performance.... If you have done some good software related project that would help u a lot....... companies generally dont ask for any certification but if u have one it will be easy for u to get a job all the best

You did a big mistake by doing your masters. S/W firm generally give equal preference to the bachelors & the masters. But the former wins the battle since he/she is younger. A bachelor degree will fetch you enough comptence, skill, attitude to enter into any s/w industry. Some even have policies that masters should be paid higher than bachelors, so here again the bachelors win. I have seen MCA graduates with good skills but not being taken into considerations while competing with other bachelors.

Never mind, someday something will click. If you are a fresh graduate, brush up what you studied while doing the graduation and build your analytical skills !! There are various books available in the market. Join various freshers community like yahoogroups, forums. You will know what is happening where. Best of luck !!!
