The computer needs to be "hit" every few minutes because the screen "freezes". Basically the computer loses all of its connection with the usb but maintains a connection to the wireless internet. It always needs a good bump to start. Once I bump it things restore like there were no problem at all, but it sure is frusterating! Anyone got any ideas? Perhaps the geek squad?

could be an IRQ interrupt confusion. its definitely a hardware problem if you have to physically bump it. can you describe any further what the symptoms are? when did the problem start? what did you do differently before the problem started? if you need any further help feel free to email me.
