Who records the best cello music?

Question

I've tried searching (in vain so far) for some cello music that sounds the same as the kind of cello music that you hear on back up music. I've bought a couple of Yo-yo Ma cd's but I was disappointed. I just want a rich, mellow, sound. I wish I could give a "for instance" but nothing springs to mind. If anyone out there in cyber-land can kind of surmise what I'm looking for by my vague description, lay it on me!! peace

Electric Light Orchestra
The earlier albums, the cello sound really raw. Then from Eldorado on, they use a whole orchestra.
