how do you get to sky pillar on pokemon ruby?

Once you beat the elite four, go to Pacifidlog town and surf to the east. If you keep to the north of the route, you should see a small pathway through the rocks. This will take you to the Sky pillar.

The sky pillar is home to wil pokémon up to level 52. In order to reach the top, you have to cross over some cracked floors. You'll need the Mach bike to do this.

Once you reach the very top, you'll meet the most powerful wild pokémon in the game. Rayquaza, at level 70. It's a dragon/flying type with the following moveset...

Fly
Rest
Extreme speed
Outrage

Obviously ice attacks do the most damage but they may kill it in one hit if your too strong. Rayquaza has an immense attack and special attack, so it could wipe your pokémon out quickly, even if they resist your attacks. Put it to sleep before you try and weaken it, and keep it asleep. Then chip it down to the minimum health you can. If you have a pokémon with false swipe, that's perfect. Once it's at its weakest, start throwing ultra balls. Be prepared to put it back to sleep if it wakes up and have to weaken it again should it use rest.

Alternatively, you could just use a master ball to catch it.

defeat the elite 4, get to pacifilog town, surf up and go to your right, be sure to keep to your northside at all times, a while after surfing you should see an opening, go in there and make sure you have the mach bike with you
