All Final Fantasies are great games, so yes FFX is fantastic. And I don't know what the dude above me is talking about; you don't need to play any of them or know anything ABOUT them to get into them. Every one of them is separate. (Which makes me question why they call them Final Fantasy since none of them ever seem to be "Final").

And Final Fantasy XII came out; get that too.

Final Fantasy X is an awesome game. And each FF game has a stand-alone story line, with different worlds and characters, except for FFX-2, which is a direct sequel to X. I highly recommend Final Fantasy XII also. Here is a few other great games:
God of War (if you are old enough, it's pretty gory), Shadow of the Colossus, Dark Cloud 2, Resident Evil 4 (again, if you are old enough) and Ico.

the superb delusion sequence isn't "linked". each and each has a diverse tale, diverse international, and diverse characters. although there's a kind of superb delusion Universe, and they do have elementary issues about them. Creatures like Chocobos, and Moogles are in maximum very last fantasies, also summon creatures each from time to time seem for the period of titles. and some magic spells are elementary interior the sequence. yet they don't seem to be extremely linked to the tale. they are extra like "cameo refrences". that's some thing that'd make you snicker if you're attentive to it, yet you're lacking not some thing in case you do not understand them. each and each recreation is made to face on that's personal (except FFX-2, that's an instantaneous sequal to FFX). in my opinion, i do not reccomend beginning your FF experience on XII. that is a good recreation, besides the indisputable fact that it is also extremely dense, complicated, and loooooong. it may be somewhat to a lot for a first time. in my opinion i'd bypass for FFX. The conflict equipment is a lot less complicated, extra affected man or woman, the tale is somewhat extra linear, besides the indisputable fact that the tale is so nicely performed, that it received't experience like it. And that's low-cost because it got here out presently after the PS2 launch.

Final Fantasy X is a great game. A score of 9.3 from Gamespot which is hard to come by with games these days. It is recommended that you play the other ones if you want to get the main story line and character, and concept etc. You could probably yahoo or google and find all about the other Final Fantasy's with out playing them. As for other games I would suggest>>>Suikoden, Legia, or Wild Arms. Those are the games that go along with Final Fantasy type. Have a nice Christmas.

All the Final Fantasy games are seperate (with few references) storylines so no, you don't have to play the previous games. And FFX is an amazing with a captivating storyline and fun mini-games (Blitzball =P)
