I am in a talent show. I will be singing a christmas song with my friend. I get so scared the when I get up on stage and see everyone, staring at me in the audience. I am afraid it will effect my singing. There is no possible way I can quit. What can I do to overcome the fear in less that 2 days?

+ Here is how I do it. First I know the song so well that I can't screw that part up. Then when I am going up in front of everyone. I look first at the floor a few feet ahead so I don't stumble getting there. I think of a good joke before I go out and finally when I have to do my thing I look about half way up the aisle first on one side then on the other. I also go up on stage and do a practice run. My friend uses a different technique. He practices on the stage he is going to be on and has a friend that plans on going sit front and center and then he sings like he is singing to that person alone never looking at the rest until he is done.
Hope This Helps.

It's hard to give you something that's guaranteed, because different things work for different people.
I used to sing every Sunday morning in church, where the atmosphere was really uptight, if you know what I mean. It took some getting used to.
You're going to be nervous, but most people are in that situation. But don't let that bother you--use it as extra energy. And...

Practice plenty and with your friend, so you know that you know how to sing the song well.

Realize that most the people who hear you will like you and continue to like you even if you were to mess up (I don't think you will, but just in case; because you will think ahead of time, What if I mess up?).

Most people listening to you will admire you for having the guts to actually get up there and sing in front of people.

The suggestion that you should look at the audience but not the faces is a good one. Better if you didn't have to look in that direction at all.

For sure, do not picture yourself messing up, don't fantacize it in your mind. Instead, picture you and your friend doing very well and pleasing the audience. This is a kind of faith thing: Believe that it will go well.

Hope this helps, too.

Realize that this fear is nothing more than an ego trip. You don't want people to find out that you are not as good as you like to think you are. Get up there with the attitude, "I don't care if I make a mistake or what others may think, so what." Then you will be free to perform. Pray first and watch the holy spirit take care of it.

when you go onstage with your friend (& how lucky that you'll have someone there beside you!!) just imagine you are singing for your family, other friends, etc...and DO NOT look directly at any one persons' face; it will distract you too much.........just look right OVER THEIR HEADS.this will appear, to the audience, that you are looking at someone in the audience, when really you aren't....don't forget to look ahead, and to the left and the right, and always look over everyone;s head.....this should help; I know from personal experience as I was a makeup artist and had to give product demos to large groups; try my suggestion; it works every time!!!!!!!!!!! good luck and enjoy yoursel while youre' up there!!

Look at the crowd but don't focus on the faces. Think of something else during your performance. I'll bet 2 minutes into it you will have calmed down and be thinking of nothing other than your singing.

just accept the fact yur ganna get up their and sing. also I've had to do that to, once you get on stage it's no big deal. everyone is human, and we are all bound to mess up in our lives. plus if you do mess up it'll make for a funni story. good luck! =)

i'm a performer and the one technique to recover from level fright is to train considering then you will not doubt your self. i found out the difficult manner that you just have a tendency to make extra errors for those who doubt your self. even supposing you do make a mistake, for those who brush it off and do not permit it exhibit for your face or posture, no person will discover
