if they remade back to the future...would marty travel to the 80s instead of the 50s?

for generation Xrs wouldnt the eighties be as we would view the fifties?

Actually, travelling back to the time when gen xrs parents met--before we were born--would take us back to the 70's or even the 60's in some cases. I was a kid in the 80's, I even remember almost all of that particular decade. If I had to go back in time and make sure my parents met, I'd have to go to 1973.
