Posible CPU overheating. Try too watch the processor's temperature in the BIOS settings or with this sensor: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/page/download_overclock)., if it's too high that may be the problem.
Pentium 4 processors can operate up to 75º C (167º F).
Athlon 64 can run up to 65º C or 70º C (149º F or 158º F),
Another problem could be ram memory or Motherboard damage. Get a software tester from the Internet.

Overheating is a problem that can be a symptom of another, such as a power supply that is over it's limit, or a short circuit somewhere in the board.
Your CPU or memory modules could be overheating even is you cleaned them, if they have a minor defect. (such as a bad temperature sensor, on the cpu)
But random reboots are indeed usually due to overheating.
Try to get a good burn in software (software that will test the limits of what your pc can endure before calling it quits)

turn on the resource manager [or M$recource manager]and look at the 'MONITOR' or monitor what is driving your computer to compute to the MAX because , if this is a newer computer,,,, it will try to save it's hardware from frying... do you have 'TheWorldWideGrid working on it or just some 'Trojan' ? AND if you see dust, Tar, Nicotene on your CPU 'Heat-sink' FAN,,, see the anti-static' answer here and also 'How to Maintain yer Animal and keep it alive ' otherwise known as the proper handling and feeding of your PET {reg Commodore'}
ps: ASUS and Abit and many non-name brands/[NOT corp whores'] m/b's have PC-Probs that monitor Temp.,Voltage, and even air-flow of your machine,,, be glad that your P/S resets or find out who made your BIOS turn off by design [ I hate Nerdz-fer-Hire ]

i think you are overclocking your cpu, it's overheating and shutting down. Go into the bios and reset the settings.like when you restart the computer in the first moments of power-up there will be something telling you how to enter. Search from there.

Is it hooked up to a battery backup? They have software that shuts off your PC automatically if there's a problem. They've also been known to "freak" out for no reason.

If it is just suddenly shutting down it could be a faulty power supply
