Join some sort of activity group (or groups to broaden your exposure and odds) that you are interested in.
Practice smiling and being agreeable.
Force yourself to reach out, it will start to get easier over time.
When you do start to develope a relationship with someone, cut them as much slack on personality quirks as you possibly can. As you get to know them more these things will become superficial and easy to overlook.

While trying to make friends do not abandon your boundaries! If your intuition is screaming something at you pay attention to it.

Best wishes and good luck from someone who's been there.

Just be friendly. I've always just asked them a little about themselves in a casual way and before you know it they continue to talk to you. For me I have developed friends that way. If you don't communicate or don't look approachable people won't want to talk to you. Body language is always readable.

sometimes they say love is more than an emotion, its a state of mind.
so i think love is a sick joke, and the combination of things that happened and failed to happen leaves me more cynical than before. ultimately, one has to walk alone in this journey called life.
