How should I look on a first date?

Question

I don't want to look like I've tried too hard to impress him. I'm 22 and he is almost 27. Since he's 5"11" and I'm 5"1", I have to wear heels, anyway.
What kind of jewellery and hairstyle will suit a round face? I want to look friendly, but not needy. And, I don't want to look too sophisticated for it might scare him off. He's very family-oriented, but that doesn't mean he wants someone who looks dowdy.

Help me, please!

Well... A white denim skirt that goes a little above your knees, a cute gold or red cami, and some gold or black tie up heels would do nicely. I'd top it off with hoop earrings, a layered necklace that goes well with your cami color(ie. if you're wearing pink, use a white or black depending on skin color), and layered bracelets. A ponytail or pigtails behind your ears, maybe braids would do nicely. If you have long hair, you can curl the ends, spray them with good hairspray so that they hold, but look natural, and slightly comb them out(if you comb everything out, it'll frizz).

I think the first and most important thing to do is dress like your self in something that you are comfortable in and that also respresents you....because regardless of age, height, you are who you are. Secondly, I definately think you need to dress for the event/date. If you are going to dinner and drink....some great jeans (or trousers) and a dressy shirt (even just a cute v-neck layers with a lace cami underneath so you get the idea of the low of the v-neck, but then the cami makes sure you are not being too revealing on the first date) add a cute blazer for that added sophistication with small earring and a cute necklace. If you are going to a sporting event, then heels are out =)....wear something sporty and cute, nothing is worst than being the girly girl at the footbal game. Overall...dress in something you feel great in becasue then your confidence and personality will shine through and that is really want he will be attracted to in the long run, not just the clothes, hair, and jewerly. If I want to look great (or catch a guy's attention), but not look like I'm trying to, I usually layer my clothes. If it's an after-work date, I would wear a blazer with a sexy cami underneath. If you decide things are going well you can make some excuse (it's hot) to take off your jacket and show off your shoulders, chest, etc. If it's a little more casual, I wear a sweater of a cami and do the same thing.

Ok. You are right don't try to over imprese him because it will be sorta strange. Instead do this. If your hair is short leave it down. It will compliment a round face. Wear something normal with small touches. Example: a pair of jeans, a cute shirt, some fun jewerly, and something cute to throwover. When you get to know him better then you should wear fancier stuff.

If it were me, I would just go with a polished version of my everyday go-to look...depending on where you are going, jeans may suit...

I would wear jeans (the best looking ones you have in a dark wash), heels and nice, soft sweater and some nice subtle jewellry

I would wear my hair down, soft makeup and a subtle but, memorable perfume, if you are so inclined...

The key is looking nice and polished but accessible and subtly sexy...you don't want to be too much of anything...

oh and btw, pick your heels that are easiest to walk in, just in case there is some walking involved...if you have a wedge heel shoe or boot, this may be the way to go...

really depends on what your doing & where your going but jeans with a cute top is a good place to start-don't over do it. as far as jewelry goes wear whatever looks best with the clothes your wearing(depends on if your dressing up or casual) as far as the hair goes leave it down & go with what style looks best on you.
