I am sorry for my grammar, but why do we have News Anchors?
Why we have to look at their faces when they talked?
Why can't they just show us mostly crime scenes, charts, polls, victims' pictures, weather maps, and other events, instead of a pretty or handsome news anchor sit there and talking, that is so boring???

Pictures, charts, scenes, and maps can all be pretty much subjected to the commentary that's given with them. So, thus is the importants for that of a News anchor, to give on the spot analysis of whats happening as its happens. In a way they fulfill their name, they make sure that the news story is grounded (anchored) in an element of undisputed truth.

Someone to not like or like. If all the news was the same without anchors people would just watch whatever channel was on. Most of us have a favorite news station because of the anchors.

News is important we need to know whats going on and whats happening in da world out there and da weather some people wants to know da weather so they know what to wear the next day instead of wearing jumpers and long pants when it's 36 degrees.The news also sometimes warn us that theres a killer out there without the news we won't know what happen that day.I find out in the evening news that Steve Irwin was dead and I been working the whole day and nobody at work knows it cause we got no time to listen to the news.Sometimes the news reporter warn other people about the fire around there areas.Nowadays where we have to beware what we do and where we go.News lets other people know, that the trains on strikes and the buses, on the next day, that will let other people know to prepare how to get to work the next day.Come on news is not that boring.

Be glad you're young now. In the early days of TV, technology was limited, and the anchors pretty well WERE the newscasts. As the average attention span seems to be heading to that of a gnat, we may have strobe-like newscasts soon.

Because someone has to read it. They don't always have pictures to go with a story. But I don't find many of them very attractive. So I tend to listen while cleaning or cooking that way I don't have to watch.
