The age of consent in Texas is considered to be 17 years of age, however, until the minor turns 18, he or she can only have sexual relations with someone up to 2 years older.

Laws restricting sexual practices of people over the age of concent were declared unconstitutional in 2003. At that time, ALL same sex acts were illegal in Texas regardless of consent.

There seems to be confusion about what the 'age of consent' law is it isnot a consent to have sex it is a law where the courts are not bound to block someone who seeks marriage without either its the courts consent and or the guardians.
the age of a 'consentual adult' in most states is 18,while others are 21.
whereas the age of consent for marriage is in most states 16.

Age of consent is established for all persons, not by sexuality. I don't know what the specific age limit is in Texas, but whatever it is it applies to ALL people.

i know mn law stipulates a minor cannot give consent under the age of 17. i think the rest of the states are the same.

just remember "16 will get you 20".
