Alamo Heights is an upscale and nice suburb of San Antonio.

You will have a lot of choices in the $200,000 range but I doubt you'd find much near the Riverwalk. The new, very small condos downtown are starting about that price and going up, way up.

For that price you could probably find something very nice in the Elm Creek area...certainly a lot more house and yard than what $200000 brings in Ca. If that doesn't fit your needs, there are some new, gated communities springing up all along the north and west stretches of loop 1604. Just drive around or contact a real estate agent. I think you'll be happy with the selection available.here.

Alamo Heights is great but so is the Thousand Oaks area. I live near 1604 and Culebra. Almost anywhere in the Northside school district is good.

I think the newest places would be in the north. I know someone who lives there. I used to live in the northwestern part of the city, just outside the loop, but that part isn't as good as it used to be. Northern burbs would be best, I think.
