I read somewhere that Locks of Love is a scam.

You know where you grow your hair long and donate your hair to Locks of Love?

No they are not a scam. My mother has donated twice and my cousin 3 times.

If you are really worried, and you know someone that has had treatment, some wig makers will take your hair and make it into a wig fairly cheap or free for that individual.

My cousin did this for a teenage friend that had lost their hair due to chemo. They now have a special bond for life!

What do you mean, is it a scam? You don't think they really make the wigs for kids with cancer?

I donated 14" of hair to them last year and plan on donating again.

Have you been to their web site? it's http://www.locksoflove.org/

Nope -- it's for reals. Two years ago, my very good friend developed inflammatory breast cancer. The chemo caused her to lose all of her hair. Thanks to Locks of Love, she got a realistic wig, and was able to feel halfway decent when she went out in public. It's a worthy organization.
