Ok i'm a week late with my period.. but just as i got home from work today (at 11:30pm) i have a touch of blood on my panty liner, so i'm wondering if i'm going to start (heavy) tomorrow in the morning. here's the thing, if it's just blotchy, i have a gyno app. on monday anyway, which i was waiting for to take a preg. test. i just have 2 questions, 1. if it's blotchy, is that still a sign of pregnancy? and 2. if it does start my regular period in the morning, is it ok to stil go to my gyno app. on monday, or should i call them first thing and reschedual it when i know i wont be on my period? THANKS! :)

first part of your question only you or time can tell. The second part, if you do start definitely call to see if they want/can reshedule you (think would you want to mess around down there on someone while they was gushin???) It will also probably be more comfortable for you, I had a miscarriage so i had no choice but for them to be down there but it was way more painful being prodded while cramping and embarrasing that it was all bloody gross down there.

Alot of women spot for a little while when they first get pregnant. I didn't but some do. If it gets heavy you probably aren't pregnant I'd be guessing you aren't and yeah I'd just call and tell em you got your period. They probably won't need you to come in at all. Some gynos will still see you on your period. I've had one see me once. I dunno I thought it was sorta gross.

About the if you could be pregnant part...Its so hard to tell from just having a little blood, that could mean a lot of things.

If you start your period then you have to reschedule...I dont think that you can have an exam while on your period, unless its an emergency.

Either way, call your Ob/Gyn on monday and tell them what is going on and let your Ob/Gyn decide. Better to err on the side of medical caution than regret not having done so in the future.
