You probably can't, and if this person is using a Yahoo! account, he or she is very unlikely to have provided much information to Yahoo! either. About all you can do is forward the message, with full headers, to Yahoo!, so they can tell you how they can help.

All Internet carriers have a way for you to block emails from certain addresses that you choose. That might be your only bet. If the emails become threatening or slimy. Contact yahoo and go to online help with your provider for more assistance. They can suspend accounts. Ck out FAQ on your providers home page also try to search: threatening emails 2005, email threats, threatening emails

If it is malicious or illegal in nature, call the police. They can get the info used to signup for the yahoo address direct from yahoo. You want to give them a contact number for yahoo in case the detective isn't very computer literate.
If it is much less serious, get a new free email address like yahoo and send them a message. Keep yourself anonymous. Tell them you are "haley's" or whatever your child's first name is, parent and you are checking that they are who they say they are. Ask for their phone number and call it to see if they are who they say they are.
If you find it is bogus, use the filters in your email software (even yahoo does it) to send their messages to the trash automatically.
Good Luck!

I would type it into google search, the whole email, with the @yahoo.com. If that comes up with nothing, get on Myspace.com to see if the person has one of those because millions have them. You can do searches on myspace with the email and you might find the person on there. good luck.
