Massachusettes is the only one. But variuos states allow domestic partnership for homosexuals they are California, New Jersey, Hawaii, and Maine. But laws vary most say you must be 18 years of age and live together. And only 4 countries allow gay marriage they are Belgium, Canada, Netherlands, and Spain. Hopefully this helps.

I'm against it mostly because it does not go far enough. It still uses the word "marriage" to mean just two people. I would prefer all marriage be changed to a Domestic Corporation rule, which would not specify the number of people or the genders. Since one must be over 18 to enter into a binding contract anyway, no age limit needs to be set. But more harm is done by the insistence on monogamy than by anything that is done to gays. The laws governing marriage effectively govern insurance laws, taxes, who can visit a person in intensive care in a hospital, or in a prison, etc. Who is your next of kin? Since so many heterosexual couples are unmarried, for one reason or another, why not accept that the very idea of having government define what is essentially a private and/or religious contract needs to be overhauled. If I could, I would be a part of a large household of adults, with the understanding that we all have our own bedrooms and visit one another as we will. Sleep overs in any direction you like. The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that gay and lesbian couples have the right to civil marriage in Massachusetts. As a result, as of May 17, 2004, same-sex couples have been able to marry. However, the marriage does not bring with it any citizenship rights. Binational same-sex couples must still choose between breaking immigration laws or being separated.

ONLY MASSECHUSETS..the couples MUST be residents of that state or of Rhode Island to participate..this has been asked several times before and answered correctly.

VERMONT has Civil Unions, which are NOT the same.

New Jersey supreme court ruled back in October that same sex marriages were to be legal the state has until the end of the year to initiate this.

NO OTHER STATES ALLOW SAME SEX MARRIAGE.
NO CIVIL UNIONS OR SAME SEX MARRIAGES ARE PORTABLE TO ANY OTHER STATE.

Marriage: Only Massachusetts
Civil Unions (with full marital rights and responsibilities): Vermont, Connecticut, and now New Jersey.
Registered partners (with limited rights, making it not equal to marriage): California, Maine, & Hawaii.

The Rhode Island courts have said that they will recognize same-gender marriages that take place in other states, although they are not allowed within Rhode Island.

Thanks, J.R., didn't know San Francisco is a state.
