I think 13 would be a decent age, because shes getting into her teen years. If shes getting into make-up, I would say let her be somewhat natural by using some cover up when shes got blemishes and pimples (not covering the whole face), and maybe some mascara or eye liner, natural eye shadow and lip gloss works for almost every age... not lip stick. She doesnt need to be wearing a whole lot, and cake it on.

You are the mom. Make a judgement. I am a dad of two young girls, 8 and 18 months. Occassionally the 8 year old wants to wear some makeup because her mom does. I see nothing wrong with it as long as it is kept reasonable. If she is just playing around in the house, she can get carried away and it is just a funny thing to look back on. For going out of the house, subtle and not noticable is ok. Example --- light blush lipstick which looks more like lip balm than lipstick is fine. I do NOT want her dolling up like a beauty queen at her age. When she is 16 or 17 , maybe. Now --- NO! --- I hope this helps :-)

Do you think that yr children are so young at the age 13?
That is not really right in some cases.
At your children age, they begin to care about themselves alot. They look around , at everybody , might be their mom even.
They easily observe a quite difference between a girl/ woman make -up or not. They think about that. And certainly they want to make themselves more different. Why you don't let them have free choice. They can learn more when they do something themselves

At 12 years old. Don't let them wear too much, it should just look natural. Maybe a little eyeliner at the corners of the eyes and some mascara, blush, and some lip gloss. No lipstick or heavy eyeshadow or liner, though. I think it looks completely tacky when girls my age have a bunch of eyeliner and dark red lip coloring... ick.

Well, I'm 13, but the only make-up I wear is like... lipgloss, and sometimes a little eye shadow. I would at least wait until Freshman years until I get into the lipstick, blush, mascara, eye liner.... yeah.

Yeah, I think 13 is too young for any make-up. Tell her to wait until she's at least a sophomore in high school.

i think 13 is a good age to start with makeup.. just teach your daughter how to do it appropriate for her age. as she gets older she will appreciate your interest and also learn not to over do it. i started wearing make up at 13 and i'm 21 now. i get so many compliments for how i do my makeup and i thank my older sister for teaching me and letting me know when i do things right or wrong. because if you dont show her, she will learn from friends and tv and everything else (which again, may not be quite right for her age)
