I think so. I mean at 11 years old, girls have such beautiful skin. She should enjoy being a natural, gorgeous girl as long as she can. Surely, she doesn't need makeup, right? If she wants to be a little girly, get her those Lip Smacker chapstick and lip glosses. She'll like the flavor and it's very subtle.

This is hard to answer. If an 11 yr. old has some light acne, then she might use a light cover-up. Maybe a touch of lip gloss. But really, young girls are so fresh and sweet-looking, why the rush?

My 15 yr. old daughter didn't use make up at 11. I certainly didn't (that was years ago!).

Guess it depends on your definition of "subtle" and also what the parent would allow.

Except for weddings or a special event, yes it's too young to wear even subtle make-up: You will get too used to wearing it, and you will begin to feel naked without it, and the older you get, your esteem will go lower without it. You're better off with natural beauty, as nothing can beat an inner glow of confidence and a happy smile!

Yes. About 4 or 5 years too young. She has the rest of her life to wear make up.

Eleven is old enough to try make-up. At home. Alone or with friends.

But to wear it in public, that is too young. It will not look good. To adults it will look like a kid playing dress-up, and I'm sure that is not your goal.

I say, experiment with it, and find the look that is right for you for when the time comes.

My mom wouldn't let me wear make-up until I was 16. I'm 22 now. Probably from age 11-15, I really hated that rule. Now, am I so glad that she enforsed that, because I don't rely on make-up like my friends do. I plan on having the same rule for my future daughters.

Not for subtle makeup. Thats it. Dont be too anxious to look like a knock-out. You have plenty of time, enjoy your natural beauty while you can.
