today it started by my abs light flashing off and on so then i checked to see if the outside brake lights were working and they would not come on so i checked my fuses and found 1 that was burnt into so i replaced it now my outside brake lights wont go off at all. please help i need to know what this is and how to fix it

ok we took off the switch plug that goes to the brake light switch and the brake lights are still onshould this not cause them to go off?

your abs light came on due to your brake lights not working and your fuse blew probably because you brake light switch is defective also y your brake lights stay on.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION


Disconnect battery ground cable.

Lift locking tab, then disconnect electrical connector from switch.
Remove hairpin retainer, then slide stop light switch, pushrod, nylon washers and bushings away from pedal and remove the switch from vehicle.
Reverse procedure to install.
NOTE: Ensure stop light switch wires are of sufficient length to allow full travel of the brake pedal.

The flashing thtat your ABS light was doing is called coding. Take it to a dealership or auto tech! Remeber that brakes are your most important safety feature on your vehicle! It is best to get it in and taken care of.

maybe the brake pedal switch is screwed

when you step on your brake,a switch above the pedal is depressed.Its a plunger type.Might be stuck down.
