i think you smile when you are truely happy becuause its easy to fake a smile, but very hard to fake a happy attitude/personality\]\\

You can be happy with the day and smile.
You can also smile because you heard a good joke and be happy.

Well, both! If I'm happy, I'm most certainly going to smile, and smiling is condusive to making oneself happy! Attitudes are contagious, therefore, if you are feeling a bit 'down in the dumps', but hold the smile on your face, by instinct, people just smile back! When people smile at you, doesn't it make you feel nice, or even....BINGO...happy!? Of course! We can choose whether to smile, even if it's only a 'grin and bear it' smile, but a smile is ALWAYS a good thing!! Good question! //*!*\\

either or. we def smile because we are happy, but i think that there is something, maybe chemically, that when you smile can trick your brain into feeling happiness.
