I think it is morally wrong to deny someone of marriage. How is it legal to discriminate. The only reasons i have got for the ban are religious ones that are unconstitutional. And that well what if two friends get married to get tax deductions. Which is like saying we we better not open stores cause people might steal

Are country was not founded on christianity you idiot. They came here to escape people like you that think lives should be dictated by religion. And some of are nations fathers were even atheist's.
The point im trying to make has nothing to do with what your god tales you. It;s about fairness the fairness for all people to think for themselves and not be dictated. Of course you think it's fair because your life isn't the one being hurt. If are four fathers wanted the nation to be dictated by christianity why would they of proposed a wall between church and state.

You're right. It is ridiculous to put this in the constitution. "Marriage" is a CIVIL contract, not a religious one! It is only religious if a religious leader officiates. Please learn this one simple fact.
Oh, yeah: and not every state has placed discrimination in their Constitution. Arizona voters rejected such a measure last month.

Well, you are in a minority of about 25-30%. Marriage is not guaranteed by the Constitution.
In a democracy, people have freedom. 24 states have put up state constitutional amendments banning gay marriage. 24 states have passed it. It passes every time.

I think it all comes down to what the definition of what marriage is.
Traditionally marriage in western culture has been between one man and one woman. I don't think that when the constitution was drafted that they would have even thought that gay marriage would have been an issue.
If you go back to the original meaning of the word two people of the same sex can't get married.
It should also be remembered that American society was found on the Christian religion. Many of the freedoms that you have today are because of this foundation.
You mentioned the reason may be religious If you know the teachings he hates all sexual sin not just homosexuality.
What did Jesus say about sexual sin?
“You have heard that it was said by them of old time, You shall not commit adultery: But I say to you, that whosoever looks on a someone to lust after them they have committed adultery with them already in there heart” Matthew 5:27,28
Hear Jesus really turns up the heat on the seventh commandment, saying it is not just the action but also the thought that condemns us.
It is not just sexual sin that condemns us, ask yourself.
Have you ever told a lie?
If yes you have broken the 9th commandment.(That makes you a liar)
Have you ever stolen anything? (no mater what the value)
If yes you have broken the 8th commandment.(That makes you a Thief)
I could keep going with the rest or you could go to

Yes God is a God of love but he is also just and there must be punishment for our sin. That punishment is hell.
This should concern us very much as it is what we all deserve. Because we have all sinned and rebelled against God.
But here is where Gods love comes in. He sent his only son born of a virgin. Lead a sinless life died on the cross taking the punishment for us. Then he rose from the dead on the third day defeating death.
What must we do to receive this gift? We must repent, that is turn from our sins and put our trust in Jesus Christ.

If people enact a constitutional amendment making it not valid, then it's constitutional.
And for the record, married couples used to pay a 'marriage penalty' tax, courtesy of the Clinton Administration. That crazy charge was eliminated in 2003.

I don't think that (any) Constitution could provide a straight and fast rule about this.
Many Constitution bans different rules for similar cases.
So questions is:
how much a situation is similar to another situation?
Same sex unions are different? How much are they different? are they different enough to deserve a different rule?
Who should interpret Constitutions?
I think that would be better Legislatures (or people) to decide about this issue, not courts.

Most lawmakers want to ban gay marriage because it would be giving tax breaks to millions of couple throughout the nation. I think it's ridiculous that our government will try to limit the rights of individuals just so they can save a buck.
But in order to be fair to christians, I think it is necessary to leave it up to the church to provide marriages to gay couples, and let the government provide them with civil unions.

where in the constitution would allow for gay marriage? marriage is defined by our laws as a man and a woman joining into a lagal unit or family, to be recognized as one unit in a society ,i know you dont want to hear a bunch of religious stuff right now but the fact is that this country and our constitution was based on the bible and religious rules of conduct common sense would tell you a society built on homosexual relationships wont last-i.e homosexuals cant reproduce hence nature itself tells you that this union is no good

In my country same sex marriages are legal. Marriage is however still limited to 2 people who are over 18 years of age and not closely related.
I thought your phrase "I think it is morally wrong to deny someone of marriage." was interesting. How do you feel about polygamous marriages? What if an immigrant from the middle east wanted to take a second wife and demand legislation for this? Is it morally wrong to deny the second wife her marriage?

It's a moral issue. Some people don't have a problem with beastiality for example. I do. I guess it's a personal opinion. Gays don't need to get married to do any of the sexual activity they want to do or to live out their lifestyle. But to allow them to call their union "marriage" just so a guy can transfer his male lover some frequent flyer miles is wrong.

A Nation will go to ruin if a Nation embraces homosexual marriage. their are civil marriages available, it is not normal I don't care how fashionable it is. But to be married in a church of G-D it's a slap in his face to mock G-D. To tell G-D his laws do not matter. A civil marriage yields the same benefits.
