Just from the question, I'd say no, it isn't all that strange. Some guys *do* have a weird, soft, fluffy romantic streak in them, and anime is different enough that sometimes normal "guy rules" get suspended on this sort of thing.
But. We need more details. Does this guy favor specific shows? Have you watched those shows with him? And if so, what does he react to? He may just like the anime, or....have a crush on a character, or...something weirder. Because some anime of the more romantic or "shojo" sort (girl's anime, roughly speaking) does cover some *interesting* territory. He might just love the shows, or he might be watching them because they engage a latent interest or obesssion he otherwise wouldn't know about.....not to give anyone ideas or anything, but you know, the same thing can happen with some kinds of movies too.
So yeah....we could use a few more details here just to be sure. :)

No, I have a cousin who's totally straight but loves that stuff. I'm a girl and like to read Shounen Jump as opposed to Shoujo Beat or any mushy manga/anime. It's just a matter of taste, whatever floats your boat! ^o^

Not weird at all. At least, to me. My brother likes to read some romantic manga. I think the world would be a better place if more guys read more romantic manga. They'd be more sensitive, and there'd be less perverts, dum-dums, and dunderheads in the world.

No I like anime and one of my fav genre is love and romantic I'm guy mand lot of my friend like romantic anime. So its not weird at all.
