The failures of the article of confederation showed that
a new govt. had to be powerful
b. state govt. had to be all powerful
c. people should not grant powers to the govt.
d. govt. shouldnt guarentee individual freedoms.

None of these answers really work. The Founding Fathers realized with the Articles of Confederation that there would never get the unanimous State approval for anything that the Federal Government would want to do. So they compromised to make the Federal Government a bit more powerful, however they still limited the powers of the Feds.
