It's spelled D A C H S H U N D, that's what they're called in the states anyway. They're a German bred small size dog and the Germans call them Dackel and sometime Teckel. The term Wienerdog is purely American.
The word DACHS means badger and HUND means dog.
The dogs were used to go hunting in burrows of other mammals originally. There are short, long and wire haired varieties and they generally make good pet animals.
