There are so many misheard lyrics that I love... here are a few that make me giggle. Any to add to the list?

U2, Desire
I heard: "BLUBBER!" I often scream
Should be: Lover, I'm on the street

Tears For Fears, Head Over Heels
I heard: My mother and my father used to beat me with egg
and scream that I'm adopted.
Should be: My mother and my brother used to breathing clean air
and dreaming I'm a doctor.

Drift Away, Dobie Gray
I heard: Give me the Beach Boys and free my soul
Should be: Give me the beat, boys, and free my soul

Backstreet Boys, "As Long As You Love Me"
I heard: Loneliness has always been a friend of mine.
I'm keeping my knife in your head
Should be: Loneliness has always been a friend of mine,
I'm leaving my life in your hands

U2: I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For
I heard: I believe in the King of Kong
Should be: I believe in Kingdom come

tarzans bullsh*t post has reminded me of that song tarzan boy.

It sounds just like
Not tonight
Get in the oven, get in the oven
whoa whoa

In reality it goes
'Night to night
Gimme the other, gimme the other
world

well, on the local radio station they used to have a funny "commercial" about people w/ chronic lyricosis .. very funny. One of them was "Slow Motion Walter, the Fire Engine Guy" ... instead of Smoke on the Water, the Fire in the Sky .. there were others but I can't even hear the real lyrics anymore.. that new television commercial w/ Lock the Catbox for Rock the Casbah is pretty clever too ... fun question!

My favourite is from Jimi Hendrix "Purple Haze"

Sounds like: 'scuse me while I kiss this guy...
Actual Lyric: 'scuse me while I kiss the sky...

And from the late 60's Iron Butterfly

Sounds like: In-a-gadda-da-vita
Actual Lyric: In the Garden of Eden Honey

(In the studio, the guys were drunk and screwed up the lyrics. Later and sobered up, I'd imagine, they chose to keep the screwed up lyrics)

The YoungRascals "Groovin' "

Sounds like: You and me an' Leslie
Actual Lyric: You and me endlessly

The entire song "Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen

Blinded by the light, Manfred Mann's Earth Band

should be: And she was blinded by the light
Cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night

Shania Twain's "That don't impress me much" My dad is adamant that the lyrics are "I can't believe you kiss your carving Knife" when it is "I can't believe you kiss your car goodnight"

I also up until recently thought the song "So lonely" by The Police was called "Sue Lawley" What an Idiot !!!

INXS sang their hit tune (the title escapes me but it was their biggest hit)
Lyrics: Slide over here and give me your number
My ears: Slide over here and give me an omellette.
And of course everyone knows The Isrealites:
Lyrics: Whohooooa the Isrealites
My ears: Whohooooa my ears are alight.

When I was in the scout we used to be made to sing the English national anthem, all about the queen.

But we used to sing

"send her clitorius, happy and glorious
long to reign over us,
God save the queen"
