American Idol contestant’s Kellie Pickler's father, Clyde -- who was released from jail in May after serving three years for assaulting a cop – auctioned off some of her belongings on eBay while she was on tour this summer.

“It was personal effects that he had from her childhood, like shoes,” says an Idol insider. “When Kellie found out, she was crushed. Everything was gone.” Just wondering--- How would you react if you were in Kellie Pickler's situation? Thanks

I also just read an article about Kellie Pickler in US Weekly that said she was physically and emotionally abused by her biological mother as well as abandoned by her at a young age. Kellie seems to have handled all that she has gone through with her parents in a remarkably mature way. I would bet Kellie feels violated and this recent action by her father may strain the fragile relationship they have created since his release from prison in May. But, Kellie has proven herself by her actions to be a person who is not vindictive in nature. She will probably forgive and forget and just get on with what will more than likely be an amazing career. She is a talented young woman and I wish her the best in everything she does. I love how non judgmental she appears to be and that will take her far. I would hope that is how she (and others in similar situations) would act. Just my opinion. A great question though!

Kellie is from a town just up the road from me in NC. I am very proud of her success and this latest happening in her life only makes me prouder of her. She handled the whole very hurtful situation with maturity and class. It would do not good to harbor any ill will towards her father who has his own issues to deal with.
She and Fantasia, another NC native and American Idol contestant/winner, have both risen above some very bad situations and made amazing lives and careers from themselves. I guess it just goes to show that with talent and perseverance, it can be done!

I agree with several others that said she will rise above it and get on with her life. Kellie seems to be a sweet, genuinely like able girl and I hope she has an extraordinary and very blessed life from here on out.
